189 Skilled Independent Visa

190 Skilled Nominated Visa

The Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) is a permanent residence visa for skilled workers nominated by an Australian state or territory government. Nomination adds 5 points to your score. Key requirements:

You must commit to living and working in the nominating state or territory for at least 2 years after the visa is granted. This visa grants permanent residence and the same rights as the subclass 189.

491 Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa

The Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) is a 5-year provisional visa for skilled workers who want to live and work in a designated regional area of Australia. It is sponsored by a state/territory government or an eligible family member living in a regional area. Sponsorship adds 15 points to your score. Key requirements:

You must live, work, and earn taxable income above the threshold (currently AUD 53,900) in a designated regional area for at least 3 years. After meeting these requirements, you may be eligible to apply for the subclass 191 permanent visa.

191 Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) Visa

The Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) visa (subclass 191) provides a pathway to permanent residence for holders of eligible provisional regional visas (subclass 491 or 494) who have lived and worked in a designated regional area. Key requirements:
